Sugar Cookies!




I loved making sugar cookies as a kid. I am not a patient person, so my cookies were never pretty. I was always the first one done, with the ugliest frosting job. The goal for me was to get done, so I could eat it. Not much has changed.

These cookies were great for my lack of patients. They only took 30 minutes! I also didn’t have to chill this recipe or roll them out. The taste of these cookies are so good! This sugar cookie recipe is soft and chewy and mmm good.

What You Need:

3/4 cup softened butter

3/4 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs

3 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp salt

2 1/4 tsp baking powder

2 1/4 cups flour


2 1/2 powdered sugar

3 tbs of softened butter

1/2 vanilla extract

3tbs of milk

1 tsp lemon juice ( optional) my frosting was a little sweet so I added lemon.

Preheat to 350 degrees. Bake for 10min, check at 8min you want light golden brown bottoms. Over done sugar cookies are dry sugar cookies.

Mix together in large mixing bowl butter, eggs, sugar, and vanilla.

In separate bowl mix together flour, salt, and baking powder.

Gradually add your dry mixture to the wet mixture.


Scoop and roll into balls, keep amounts of cookie dough the same. I used about tablespoon portions. Place on  non stick baking sheet and or silicone mat ( don’t spray or grease baking sheet)

After cookie dough ball is placed on the baking sheet, press ( lightly)  flat with bottom of a glass.  I sprayed the bottom of the glass so it would remove easier.
